AJS were chosen to carry out the refurbishment of the Grade I Listed Conservatory Bar, as part of the Royal Opera House ‘Open Up’ project. The project’s principal objective is to transform the public experience of the Royal Opera House at its Covent Garden home. Situated above the old carriage walkway on Bow Street, the room with its barrelled roof and elegant floor to ceiling windows is ideal for small drinks receptions and intimate dinners.

AJS undertook a high-end restoration, comprising of a full fit-out new solid American Black Walnut Bar, with Italian marble tops and solid brass trims; a new state-of-the-art lighting system; Walnut flooring and new Mechanical and Electrical systems. The project also included the installation of a large amount of kitchen equipment and a new ‘prep’ area for food.
 

The project included several items of Contractor’s design, including the high-end joinery of the main bar. The team’s hard work and attention to detail was required to achieve the highest possible standard of finish, working with an esteemed client and well-respected design-team to deliver a successful and prestigious space to be enjoyed by future generations to come, at this iconic London venue.
